This one-day Introduction to Coaching is for managers and team leaders interested in getting the best out of people and improving their professional skills. It is designed as a taster for anyone interested in exploring what coaching can do for them and their organization.


Our aims:

To enable professionals to understand how coaching can support individuals to develop themselves and their careers.

To introduce the basic coaching skills managers need to perform effectively as coaches in the work-place.

To engage participants in an interactive workshop where they can explore:

  • • coaching - and how it differs from mentoring
  • • the benefits of a coaching style
  • • supporting others to achieve their goals
  • • the basic tools for coaching conversations
  • • two effective coaching models with demonstrations and practice
  • • how these skills, models and tools are transferred to the work-place
  • • coaching resources available
  • • industry qualifications and accreditation
  • • the role of the Institute of Leadership and Management

Timing:

The training is from 9.30am – 4.00pm with two 10min breaks for coffee and 50mins for lunch.
